Libra Today

The Bottom Line

Are you in the midst of a tug of war for power today? If so, let go of the rope.

In Detail

Are you in the midst of a tug of war for power today? If so, it might be wisest for you to let go of your end of the virtual rope and walk way. Being so embroiled in this battle is forcing you to lose sight of other, more important aspects of your life. You can't get distracted by one thing at the expense of everything else. You can achieve balance -- so figure out today what really needs your attention, and what really does not. Put people higher on your priority list.

Holy crap. This is scary -_-

Lu Xun (183 – 245) was an officer of Eastern Wu during the Three Kingdoms era of China. He was instrumental in causing Guan Yu's downfall, but is most famous for defeating Liu Bei in the celebrated Battle Of Yi Ling. Lu Xun was born into one of the four most prestigious and richest families in the Wu district (Zhu, Lu, Gu, Zhang). Lu Xun began his career as a minor official under Sun Ce who was then still a general and provincial warlord. Lu Xun was soon given a minor post as commandant and civil officer, where he distinguished himself as both a skilled civil leader, and as a military commander. As a military commander, he pacified south eastern tribes of Yue and brought them within the Chinese influence. As a civil official, he was successful in integrating northern refugees and minorities into the social and economic structure of Wu.

In 208, the allied forces of Sun Quan and Liu Bei defeated the powerful warlord Cao Cao at the Battle of Chibe (Red Cliff), halting Cao Cao's southern expansion and cementing Wu's place in the Three Kingdoms. Liu Bei, however, controlled virtually no land at the time, so Sun Quan agreed to lend Liu Bei the province of Jing until such time as Liu managed to take the lands of Shu. By 219, Liu Bei had taken Shu, but balked at returning Jing. Guan Yu, a general under Liu Bei, who was appointed the governor of Jing province, was, in some measures, an arrogant man who provoked some of his subordinates, including Liu Bei's brother-in-law, Mi Fang.

An opportunity presented itself when Guan Yu began a campaign against Cao Ren in the north, leaving his eastern front undermanned.

Lu Xun proposed an idea to Sun Quan, and the plan was fleshed out. Lu Xun pretended to take command of the armed forces of Lu Meng and sent a flattering letter to Guan Yu, stating his awe in being allowed to work alongside such a great general and that he desired to depend on Guan Yu's skill. Guan Yu bought it, and further dropped his guard, moving away his last reserves. Lü Meng and Lu Xun then staged a lightning attack into Jing province and snatched away the province before Guan Yu knew what was happening. Afterwards, Guan Yu's arrogance doomed him as many of his subordinates defected to the Eastern Wu army.

To demoralize Guan Yu's troops, Lü Meng asked the family members of Guan Yu's troops to write them letters. After receiving these letters, Guan Yu's army simply melted away and returned home to their families. In his attempt to escape to Shu, Guan Yu was captured and executed.

When Liu Bei found out that Jing province had been taken and that Guan Yu, one of his closest generals, had been executed, he was enraged. He led the army of Shu eastward to reclaim Jing province and to avenge Guan Yu. After several defeats of Wu, Lu Xun was given command of the army and ordered to counter this threat.

Lu Xun established several forts and reinforced the existing citadels instead of directly contesting Liu Bei's advance. Although this strategy sacrificed territory, it gained him critical time to organize and transport the Wu troops. The critical points thus established also served to tie down enemy troops and disrupt enemy supply routes.

Few generals were happy with the choice of Lu Xun as supreme commander; many were hardened veterans from the days of Sun Jian, whereas Lu Xun was someone new and something of an unknown (Lü Meng had received most of the credit for the capture of Jing province). They wished to attack Liu Bei while his troops were presumably exhausted from the march. Lu Xun denied them, stating that he discerned that Liu Bei had planned for that, and open battle would be too risky. Liu Bei then sent some forces forward to lure the Wu army into an ambush; the generals wanted to fight, but Lu Xun, predicting an ambush, once again denied them.

After several months of inactivity, Lu Xun suddenly struck, first tricking the Shu commanders with a mock attack on one of their camps, then ordering his troops to move forward with torches and set fire to all the other camps of Liu Bei's army. This was followed by a devastating attack from three sides by all of the Wu forces, and Liu Bei's army was utterly destroyed. Liu Bei fled west and died a year later in the city of Baidicheng. After this, the Wu generals no longer criticized Lu Xun, seeing that he had devised most of the winning strategies of the battle.

The Wu army prepared for a follow-up campaign into Shu, but Lu Xun perceived that Cao Pi, Emperor of Wei, would take the opportunity to attack Wu, and held off. Sure enough, Wei led armies against Eastern Wu shortly thereafter.

Lu Xun had cemented his position as head of the army, and was named the Governor of Jing province. In the Battle of Shiting, Zhou Fang, a provincial official feigned defection to Wei, luring a large Wei army commanded by Cao Xiu deep into Wu territory. An ambush was set up by Lu Xun in which the much larger army of Wei was surrounded and all but destroyed, rescued by Jia Kui, who predicted the ambush and tried to convince Cao Xiu beforehand, but was rejected.

At a later date, Wu launched a campaign northward, but one of their trusted couriers was captured and news of their military plans leaked out. Zhuge Jin, one of the generals leading the campaign, began to panic and wrote to Lu Xun, seeking advice on how to retreat; Lu Xun did not reply, but instead spent his time playing chess and planting beans. Zhuge Jin, perplexed, went to find out what Lu Xun was up to. Lu Xun explained that if they fled immediately, the army would be in chaos and the enemy would be able to take advantage, pursue, and destroy them. Instead, by acting calm, they would suspect some ploy by Lu Xun and thus hesitate, allowing the Wu forces to quietly withdraw. Just as he said, the enemy hesitated and the Wu forces were able to withdraw safely.

Lu Xun was a highly respected advisor to Sun Quan; he was known for his virtue and humility, as well as his keen insight. After Sun Quan named himself Emperor, Lu Xun was made Chancellor.

As for this model, it is a very attractive model and of course, player friendly. I sprayed its crimson armor with bright red which look awesom on him. In my opinion its the best Sengoku model released so far. Definitely worth buying

Aiming

Aiming seems to be a problem to many in my apartment when they're doing their small business. I'm not a cleaniness freak, but nevertheless, I'm really particular about cleaniness. Especially on things which are gross and irksome such as those liquid. This is not the first time it happened. It somehow piss me a lot today because I'm in a pissy mood courtesy of the bloody streamyx. It happened twice today. TWICE!!!

I woke up at an early time of 11.20 am this morning. As I was in front of the toilet bowl, I realised many had took aim at it at a much earlier time before me. Why? because there's this yellow sticky stain on it. It almost kill my appetite for brunch. But I kept my cool somehow. I calmly took the paip and give our toilet bowl a good bath. And I still dry it with tissue paper. I went to the toilet again monents ago and I saw the similar stains on it (its just slightly darker in colour and the shapes different). I was PISSSED!!! Those damm morons can't even aimed properly at such a big hole! Come on, are they blind or they simply have parts designed like a shower?? No no. Even if its like shower they'll be able to fit in. My bet there's a leak here and there.

My firendly advice. Get a new pair of specs. Or please, mend your leakage. God design human with the correct amount of holes and you definitely don't need extras

Eating Your Share

Imagine there's a big round and delicious looking cake. Mm.... Lets say its a Banana Chocolate cake. When you see it, you'll automatically want to eat the whole thing. But more than often, you can't. There are many people also wanting a piece of the cake.

You could be the one who bought the cake. You can claim that the cake mentioned is yours. However, there might be friends or family members around. They might eat some too. You won't end up having to eat the whole cake. Its frustrating at times when you know you can;t eat the whole thing. But then again, how much a person can eat is always fixed. You can't go beyond that. Either you're already full, or you can't continue eating due certain circumstances.

What can you do if you're in a situation like this where you wanna eat more of the Banana Chocolate? Nothing. Nothing you can do at all. Unless you wanna insist of having more than your share. But that might incur a string of unnecessary problem. Your stomach might bloat, you might have problemdigesting, your family and friends might be unhappy and disappointed because they don't get a piece and if the cake can speak, it will probably say you're too much and too selfish

You all understand what I'm trying to say? Do you all understand the message I'm trying to convey? Probably not. Nevermind

"Chelsea Football Club is delighted to confirm Guus Hiddink will become temporary coach"

- Club statement

Hiddink takes charge at Chelsea. Chelsea have confirmed Guus Hiddink will become temporary coach until the end of the season. Hiddink is due to meet the players later this week after taking over from Luiz Felipe Scolari who left the club on Monday. The 62-year-old Dutchman will combine the job with his current role as coach of the Russian national side who are in with a good chance of qualifying for the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa. A statement on the club's official web site said: "Chelsea Football Club is delighted to confirm Guus Hiddink will become temporary coach until the end of the season. The club would like to take this opportunity to thank the Russian Football Union for their understanding and cooperation." Hiddink has been with the Russian national team since 2006, guiding them to the semi-finals of Euro 2008, a competition they qualified for at the expense of England.

During the summer tournament, Hiddink's Russia excelled, cruising through the group stages with wins against Greece and Sweden, before a 3-1 victory over his native Holland in the quarter-finals. Russia's attacking flair won them many admirers before they eventually went out in the semi-finals to eventual winners Spain. The Russian role is Hiddink's fourth at international level. He had a successful spell with Australia, where in 2006 he led the country to its first World Cup Finals since 1974. He also took charge of co-hosts South Korea, guiding them to fourth place in 2002 and Holland, who also reached the last four of the World Cup in 1998.

His first Barclays Premier League fixture at the helm will be on Saturday 21st February when the Blues visit Aston Villa. I wish him luck (:

Chelsea Updates

Yesterday, our coach was fired by the managing board of Chelsea. Again.

The club had changed manager so often from Jose Mourinho, Avram Grant then Luiz Scolari. But come on. You shouldn't fire someone simply because he make a mistake. Their principle is kust like "If you don't win you're out". This shouldn;t be the way things are being done. By changing a manager of a club so often is just like changing Prime Minister very often. Look what happen in Thailand. Thats an example. Your country become unstable. The club will be unstable. One shouldn't blame the coach totally on a defeat. The players nd refree must sometimes be held responsible too. Everyone can remember what Mike "The Vulture" Riley did against Lampard during our match with Liverpool. Does that mean the coach is at fault? And remember ex Liverpool player John Arne Risee? He caused so many own goals which lead to the defeat of the club. Does that mean the manager is at fault? To me one shouldn't put all the burden on the manager alone.

It is upset that Chelsea is practicing such policies. The club is temporarily in the hands of Asst Manager Ray Wilkins. I wonder how they'll fare against Watford this weekend without their coach. Till then, hope this change somehow DOES bring some good as they claim.

Lastly, thank you and goodluck coach, for all you had done for the club

Chinese Class

This semester marks a new beginning for me. One, a formality I always say, I hope I'll get better grades this semester and two, I'm taking Chinese!!!!!!!

Alright alright, I'm a banana. And seriously, I admire those who knows Chinese. I've always blame my parents for not sending me to a SJK school but send me to a SK school instead. And pardon me, despite I'm belonging to the group called Bananas, I am seldom close to them. ONly a handful of them make great friends with me. So far I can only think of 3 of them, Raymond, Adrian and a classmate. I'm sure many people realised something which I definitely did realised because I'm in the group: Banana's thinking is usually a little different from the rest. I've known one since primary school who has lots of pattern which is more than badminton. There was once when everyone is talking in the living room during a Chinese New Year visit. He, instead of joining the crowd, he stand at the door, shirt tucked in, wear a sunglasses and took a pose there. When asked what the hell are you doing? The reply is a short "The scenery is good." Another Banana which make a good example is the former High School Top Student which, to avoid liability, I won't mention. People might argue that I'm generalising, then I must say yes. I AM in fact generalising them into "most of them". Why? Because I grow up with them. I won't say whether do I fall into that category for its better to leave it to others to judge.

The biggest problem with banana, from my observation seems to be their "no holds barred" way of talking where they shoot so straight and when their words reach you you'll feel as if you got hit by a pinpoint avalanche. They might mean no malice, but sometimes they are just too straight forward and they could be hurting people's feeling unknowingly. There are also cases where bananas tend to have communication problem with people as in, either people find them hard to approach or they simply can;t figure out the correct approach which they should adopt.

So, after two bananas in the family ie: my sis and myself, I insisted my dad send my brother to a chinese school. So that he won't be such a letdown. I've always feel as a Chinese, even if you can't read, you chould at least be able to understand and use our mother language to communicate. I hope its not too late but I'm registering a Chinese Class. It seriously took a toll on my patience. I've got a feeling I'm learning kindergarten stuff. When the lecturer start of by calling the class 'xiao peng you', immediately comfirm my thoughts to be accurate.

The lesson started of by learning up down left right. Wtf?? She wants the whole class to mimic her mini dance and say 左左左右左 and 上上上中下. Then follow by papa, mama, ni hao, good morning and stuff -__-

I wonder how long can I put up with such..... mm... 'treatment'. But I'll persevere after all. Wish me luck! ~.~

Vacation Shortened

This week have not been a very good week due to various surprises. Need to find Criminal Law Assignment group, Chelsea lost their game, Frank Lampard got a red card due to some f***ing refree, honey's not really in the best mood due to school matters and even in DotA I miss my ulti twice.
And I was here thinking all will be ok after today cause the original plan was I'm having a short break from today till tuesday. And the misfortune circle just got completed with a piece of news that Monday ain't a holiday. I was like "WTF?? Its Thaipusam and its a festival! Come on! We're a multi racial society!" The answer that came back was, "Sorry man, this is Melaka. Not Johor." I quickly consult five different other people and each quickly came back with a no. So my vacation had just been reduced to a mere 4 days instead of the original 6.

On a side note, do you all know Muar Tanjung got a lot of Babi Hutan? I've seen their whole family picnicking

Shin Matsunaga's Zaku II

In the Mobile Suit Gundam fictional world, Shin Matsunaga was a Zeon ace pilot during the One Year War. When his talent was recognized, his mobile suit's head and left shoulder were painted white, thus giving him the nickname The White Wolf (Hakurō 白狼), which was later expanded into "The White Wolf of Solomon" when it became clear the space fortress Solomon was his base of operations.

For much of the war Shin served as the bodyguard of Vice Admiral Dozle Zabi, whom he greatly revered, during the Admiral's frontline inspections. His mobile suits included a Zaku II, Gelgoog Jager(Officially he never had a Gelgoog Jager), and a Gyan (Which was never used if he had one at all.). Ironically, he was not at Solomon when the battle occurred, having been recalled to Side-3 shortly before the operation began.

Shin's nickname "White Wolf" came not only from his white colour scheme, but also his preference for close combat. His most well-known tactic was using his Mobile Suit's generally superior thrusters to move in close to a target and then use his Heat Hawk to carve it into pieces. This was very effective against warships, once he was close enough he no longer had to worry about their powerful beam cannons and their close combat weapons were often too weak to do any significant damage.

Shin is also reputed to be a "defensive Newtype".

After a long period of time I've finally finish this model. Comparing with the previous Zaku models, this Zaku is made quite differently. The most notable is the non usage of rubber connectors for its joints when you're assembling both parts. Its more of a direct assembly meaning you just take both parts and attach to each other just like that. Using this technology it solve the issue of joints being too loose or things like the hand fall because the gun is too heavy. However, the defect is that it will render it more difficult to asemble due to the absence of the rubber connectors. Overall it is a very good model. Can be easily weathered and spray with a simple choice of white
