A Conversation With God

A holy man was having a conversation with God one day and said, ' God , I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.'

God led the holy man to two doors.

He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in.

In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew, which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished.

They were holding spoons with very long handles, that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful.

But because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering.

God said, 'You have seen Hell.'

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water.

The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, 'I don't understand.'

It is simple,' said God . 'It requires but one skill. You see they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.'

Typical

In this place, the dinner style is in fact very typical. Its usuall either these dishes or if not, those dishes. Its always those few types.

The main course will usually be xiao long bao. Literally translate, it would be little dragon bun. Its hot. So usually, people will let it cool a little and you notice the hole on it? Yep, you'll the gravy from that hole. Then you finsh it all in one mouthful. They will usually opt for this bun rather than rice. They also have a particular behaviour of serving the main course last. All other dishes will be serve first and lastly the main course. The principle is that they want the customers to feel full. Because in their opinion, if main course is serve first, one might be too full to taste the rest of the dishes.

Kong Poh Eel. Also a Shanghai delicacy. Its really good

Beef striploin in black pepper sauce. I'm actually surprise that the chinese can prepare beefs that might actually be better than the westerners' style. Well, at least I'm comparing to the western food in M'sia and not really the west. Its tender and never once stiff or hard. I had beef everyday here (:

Roasted Piglet (:

As for this dish, we sidetrack a little bit. Its not actually a Shanghai delicacy. In fact, its a Sichuan delicacy. Tofu in Chilli. Not really spicy. You won't drop tears from it angel. Its so popular that is got adopted by the Shanghai people. Its good too (:

Counting Down

Two more days and I'll be back. I might not look like it but I'm actually missing home.

Yesterday went to the sea side, a church and some temples. I didn't bother taking pictures of the temples. They're ugly.

I really like this church. They call it cathedral though I don't think its big enough to be one. Its called Cathedral of St Ignatius. Roman Catholic Church. Very nice building. More than a hundred years old!! It was build during the time when the Eight Consulates took over Shanghai. It was told that this church served as a shelter for many during the WWII

My aunt and I by the seaside. Lol

Day 5

Just a short update from the previous posts. Didn't go much today. Went back to Yi Yuan to get some stuff. So bought a Dutch rapier and a Japanese Katana. Then went to this place call "Xing Tian Di". No picture of myself as I'm still going around on my own. Not in much mood for picture too anyway

In short this is a heaven for any group of people. Note the word group. So its pretty useless I came alone. Its a area full of bars, cafes, bistro and etc. I saw some nice restaurants selling very appealing looking tenderloin steak too. Wanted to eat but I told the driver to pick me up in 30 mins. So force to let it passed. And I think they're celebrating halloween (I thought its over?!). Note all the skeletons and pumpkins. Not surprising since its a area frequent by Westerners

Damm Bored

I'm blogging from my uncles office when he and all the other staffs are in a meeting. I've been waiting for two and a half hour. And I'm bored and lonely. And of course hungry. Haven't had lunch. You must be thinking why I don't want to go eat first? The reason is simple. Because of the office security system. Usually a security system. Its so different than any ordinary one because, a normal and usual security system is to keep people out. This instead, keep people in dammit! To go out you need a keycard and a password of some sort. Now that everyone is having a meeting, where on earth am I suppose to find either one of those? Ish. -_-

So the only thing I can do here is looking at the window. Maybe like the hotel one, I'll see Malaysia and faces of people I miss. Today is not a very good day to begin with. I woke up at six. Thinking of sending a sms and my phone is barred. Can't use at all. The other phone is out of credit. I'm lost. Phones are really important to me when I'm outstation you know? How can I keep in touch with people if the phone's flat? Well, I might not need the phone if this trip is the seclusion I first planned. but I don't need a seclusion anymore! My life's already painted with colors again... So... I want the damm phone T.T

I called my mum using my uncle's phone. Fortunately she picked up. I ask her two questions. One, how are you? Immediately after she answered my first question I ask my second in form of "Whats happening to my phone?" Well, seems like its due to exceeding credit limit. Damm. I only realise about now that my credit limit is only half a thousand (Well, I'm not a spendthrift boy so I must say its the first time it touch so much). I ask her why didn't put my limit to be a thousand? She replied curtly "So you won't be using more than half a thousand:)". Nevermind, I'm a patient person. I just hope she get my phone up to use again.

I do visit several place today. But now I'm not in the mood to blog about it. Although i finally got a China line which I can (just realised) sms but can call internationally. So the day look up a little. But not up enough. Haiz haiz.... Miss home

Going to look at the window again.... Maybe you'll say I'm crazy. But when I look out of the window, I see 'angel' (:

Later....

Shanghai Day 4

The day today is relatively simple. Went to the museum and to Nanjing Road again. Well, guess lets give the museum a pass as it will probably bore the reader.

However, something relatively funny happen today. Funny, yet unbelievable.

I was ask by this guy as I was walking along the street to be a part time model. He even showed me the office and asked me to go for an immediate audition. It my heart was like "just f** off. Lol" I told him I was a tourist and he still insist I go. Haha... hilarious. Well, the pay's not too bad. RMB 1,700. He even left me his name card. However, since I'm a person who always look into the mirror, I know my limits. So I turn him down :(

And I was walking down this street. Alone. But its so chilling and nice. Well, can say its a park la. The whole area is full of pigeons. I've finally got the feeling of running through a flock of pigeons and the fly all around you:))) Feel like I'm in a movie or something. Too bad I'm alone so no one can take the moment down. Then I saw this cute little kid feeding pigeons. So I uncontrably went over to have a picture with him. Who took the picture you'll ask? Lol. That kids mum:P

And whats this? Its beef rice!! Trust me I swear in the name of whatever up there that this is the best beef rice I ever had (although the rice ain;t in picture). Its slighly spicy, so "certain" individuals might want to avoid. Certainly I had it without any milk. The meat is so tender that it melt when it touch the tongue. Well, I suspect they use the cheek part of the cow. If not such result is unlikely to be possible.

So far thats all. Later:)

Shanghai Day 3

Day started as usual with some appetizing breakfast. Sausages (chicken, beef, veal and pork), beef steak, bread pudding, watermelon, kiwi fruit and some apple juice.

After that, went straight to Yu Yuan. So far I must say its the nicest place I'm in so far. I enjoyed this place the most for this trip. Its sort of like Jonker but the only difference is that its at least twenty times bigger.

Check it out

This place I must say its the most suitable place to shop for gifts and souvenirs. One can find anything you want here. Nice calligraphy brushes, seals, jade, leather bags, good food, weapons and everything. You name it you get it. The catch however is that most of the prices are very unreasonable. How do you actually suppose to handle this? Well, maybe there's many ways. However I find that the most effective way to counter such situation is simply to be more unreasonable than them (:

And I've came to know that there is this very very famous xiao long bao restaurant and of course, I wanna taste it. But look at the freaking queue!!!!! The restaurant is 2 story and its all full?? Gotta be kidding. Well, the queue is real afterall. Well, I opt not to wait so I did not get the chance to taste it. Even if I wait it will probably had sold off by the time it reach my turn. Bah!

And what have I forgotten? Yup yup! Upload a picture of myself. Here!

And there's some cultural show too which flocks all the tourists together. Well, not my type of show so I just took a picture and buzz off.

And I brought a thousand buck along only which I think its enough. Apparently not. Lol. So gotta go back pretty early to re finance my wallet:(((

Shanghai Day 2

So far this place is nice:) The only catch is I miss home (although most of you won't believe).

The day star with an early breakfast. My favourite will be that Danish Croissant which look like an egg but you can see the difference of it and the two eggs. Lol. After that we headed straight to well, don't know how they call it, but they call it the Bund of Shanghai or something. Thay call it Shanghai Tan in chinese if not mistaken. Nice place and nice weather. I was told its a good place for dating at night:P (with nice lightings and land breeze and all:P)

The things I like about Shanghai is because of their difference in the architecture. It was all resulted from the actions of the Qing Dynasty when they leased Shanghai to the 8 Consulates. So Shanghai was actually broken into 8. And you can see different style of buildings by the Brits, The French, Spanish and even the Japs.

Later on we went to have an overview of Nanjing Road. Its somewhat similar to Orchard Road in Singapore. The only difference, of course, Nanjing Road is much bigger. Its line ten to twenty One U concentrated in one area. Shopping heaven for women:)

Haha... This is an overview of Nanjing Road. Of course its much much longer. But well, I'm simply too lazy to upload the pictures. The size is big and it takes a loot of time:(

*when I saw this store I thought of you immediately. I'm sure its a place you would like right? (:

*I on the other hand will prefer this store. Right next to the one you would like (:

After Nanjing road, we went to Wu Jiang Road. It had some amount of great local delicacies. Lol

Well, the oysters are state of the art. But the arts include chicken wings, scallops, cuttlefish and etc which might even put Van Gogh in shame:) Food is an art too. Lol. Too lazy to upload the rest of the food. We also visited an are which suit me but not when I'm alone. Its called Jiu Ba Road. Which means Pubs Road. Similar to Bangsar, but of course much bigger again and less concentrated. But is a street full of pubs and bars. Jack Daniels and all sorts of stuff. Also visited a place which doesn't suit me. Its call HuaiHai Road. Its similar to our Star Hill of Malaysia. Everything is expensive like hell. Again, you girls will like it as long as you bring a bank along or you have a strong financial base.

Till then. Later:)

Shanghai Day 1

Hi all! Talking to you all from the laptop in my uncle's apartment. His apartment is a suite on the 38th floor of Ramada Hotel.

Touch ground at approximately 6.30 am. However, i stupidly fall asleep in the plane as it was about to land (courtesy of wine). So what happened? The air hostess stupidly did not give me an arrival card to fill in. So I was lining up to go pass custom and I realized I do not have one of those arrival card with me. Then I've gotta go fill in one. Stupid. So i've gotta line up all over again

Once I' done, it luggage time. However, when I go to the lane which I'm suppose to carry get my luggage, its empty (except for me). No human, no bags. -_- So i wait. Wait, wait and continue waiting. Darn. The luggage simply did not come. So I ask a security. She says, "Don't worry, maybe its still being checked. So wait for a while." So I say, "but miss, apparently I' m the only one left here you notice?" She replied, "Mm... Thats the case ah... Aiya, just wait for a while k? Be patient"

-___________-

So I continue waiting. Very patiently. Until about 8.45 the whole damm lane stop working. I panic this time. I was thinking maybe due to the delay (stupid arrival card and wine) someone had "accidently took my luggage. So I went to the inquiry counter to ask. Guess what, my bags there. I felt the urge to tell them can't you all leave my things alone. But well, seems they are just trying to be helpful

So, I got out at roughly at 9.00 am. 2 hours delay. When I saw my uncle he was like, "Dear young man I thought you took a wrong flight to Beijing instead of Shanghai." Lol, so I just gotta tell him, "Nah... the plane is just to big so I got lost in between".

When I touch ground the first thing I do was trying to contact Malaysia. But when I finally figured it out, its already at 7.10:( which is too late dy. Aiks Aiks. So I can reasonably conclude its a pretty bad start.

However, breakfast onwards its not too bad. I ate two rounds of breakfast

Checken beef pork and veal sausages with pancake, chicken skewers, oranges and watermelon

Second round comprises of sausages again, siew mai, egg, deep fried oyster

As for the other stuff, some other time perhaps. Suddenly no mood to blog

Nothing Less Than Priceless

I receive a phone call 10 minutes ago.

I thought she wanted to wish me Happy Birthday

When I say hello, no one answers

Then I heard the sound of piano

Its Happy Birthday To You and followed by Jay Chou's Jian Dan Ai

I'm overwhelmed. No one ever played the piano for my Birthday before. I suddenly found my tears dropping. I'm touch. I can't describe my feelings now

Its so sweet. So sweet. I realize suddenly my Birthday is still meaningful. This is the best Birthday I ever had

Full of pleasant surprises which I don't expected

The sweetest. The best

How Do I Want to Celebrate My Birthday

I've been living in this world for 20 years. I asked my dad a question just now. I ask, "Dad, have you thought of celebrating your birthday in any way?" He says, " No. Just have a dinner and a cake thats it." So I replied; "Is it because no one ask you how you want to celebrate your Birthday?" He says "yeah...."

This is what applies to myself for the past nineteen years too. Its just a dinner and a cake thats all. With a few photographs. If lucky there'll be a few friends around. Thats it. Same protocol. But this year its a little bit different.

She ask, "How do you plan on celebrating this year? I'll celebrate with you in anyway you like."

I'm blur for a while. I never thought of such questions before. Its always the same. Dinner and a cake. If I'm happy I'll bake one. If not I'll just buy one. So in the end its celebrated in a very special way:) First time in my life.
_____________________________________________________________

*This area is deliberately left blank because the author don't know how to put the way he celebrate in words

_____________________________________________________________

The cake is from Nadaje. Why it became so distorted, its because when I brake the whole cake touch the ground -_- That car in fronts fault *curse in the heart @#x*%$&+=*

He brake suddenly also:(

A nice present. I like it a lot. Why? Because its my favourite colour, the thoughts, the way she's trying to conceal it in my car -_-, and most importantly it fits perfectly even though I'm sure she don;t know the size I wear.

Teddy's touched

Teddy smiles broadly

Hehe... I'll remember:P

Not too long. Just seven hours, but I'll remember it forever. Thanks ^-^

张飞 @ Zhang Fei

Lol. Islamic Exam is over. And I want to take this opportunity to thank Mr Idrissa Felix for his utmost guidance. He certainly uphold the Islamic principle of "avoiding hardship" for people.

Another surprise is I got my first Birthday present:))))) Its from my sister. Its a Zhang Fei model and I spend the entire night doing it:)

As most will be aware Zhang Fei played an important role in the Three Kingdoms. He is Liu Bei and Guan Yu's brother which subsequently a member the Five Tiger Generals. A man who is loyal to his brother, he had fought alongside his brother since the beginning.

He participated in many battles in history such as the Battle of Chang Ban Bridge, Battle of Red Cliff, Battle for Chengdu, Battle of Hu Lao Gate and many more.

The most famous one is the Battle of Chang Ban where he single handedly defended the bride from the attacks of Cao Cao. He shouted at the army where it cause the horses to bolt which cause Cao Cao's soldiers to fall from the horse. A general was also killed from falling in the horse. Fearing there's an ambush Cao Cao retreated.

Another famous battle is Battle of Cheng Du where Liu Bei's army advances from both land and sea. The sea route attack is led by Zhuge Liang and Zhao Yun. The sea usually is a faster route because there's no one who will block them. But Zhang Fei prove his wit and valor again and manage to reach Cheng Du before Zhuge Liang arrive. He also fought Ma Chao and ended in a draw. Ma Chao join Liu Bei shortly after that

As for how to rate this model, I'll say its priceless. Because its from my sis:)

Not Accurate

When I saw the question paper this afternoon I thought I got the wrong question paper. During tutorials I was sure I'm very much awake. And in the midst of away, the lecturer says there's definitely going to be a question on defamation.

And what happen today?? No defamation questions at all (no occupiers and employers I don't care cause I skip that:P). How can that be? I study somuch for that and it didn't. I think there should be a new branch of tort call lecturer's liability of something.

Lecturer's liability is part of negligence like occupier's liability and employer's liability. It happened when the lecturer "made a statement (not mere comment) which indicates an idea which induce the students to believe in it and the duty of care is breach when the statement turn out to be false". The test is "would a reasonable lecturer put in the defendant lecturer's position foresee that the statement made would induce reasonable students to believe in it".

Importantly, its actionable per se. Damages do not need to be proven. It will be too late when half the class is taking supplementaries. Now must pay to sit for it some more >_<

Money Making Uni. Isn't this a very useful tort?:) Just hope it can apply retrospectively

Blur

This morning at four I went to check what my horoscope gotta say. It says:-

'Things are going to be unpredictable today, so watch out for last minutes changes'

I was like, yeah right. My roommate who happen to see it told me, "Eh bro, maybe its telling you by right you'll pass your exam but suddenly you fail. Last minute change right?" I say "f*** you".

I was waiting for something to change. I got myself ready at one. Since exam starts at 2.30, I called Rires to bring his Zaku II to the hall to show me. When I call, he just woke up. I ask is he taking mc and skipping exam? He replied "baka. Exam is tomorrow."

I was like

Seems like thats the last minute change today. Potong steam

But that day happen to be my sister's birthday so I was pretty busy. Must help her cut cake to serve her friends and stuff >.<

Well, when I got a student is a secret:) And whats the student learning under me IS, also a secret:) But I can say its something reasonably dangerous:P. Both of us had the food, but luckily I didn't cry. Lol. Its an experience I'll be remembering.
